window anti reflective coating

Simply put, window anti-reflective coating is a coating added to the window. They add an additional glare reducing layer. Glare occurs when sunlight reflects off a window and makes everything inside appear too bright and uncomfortable. This is really annoying, particularly if you start working on something, or you want to relax after a hectic day. Window anti-reflective coating saves 90% glare. This means you can easily see whatever is inside your home or office, and you can do so comfortably.

It turns out there is also a really cool and interesting explanation for how window anti-reflective coating works. When light strikes a window, some of that light bounces back. The reflection is what tends to cause glare. The anti-reflective coating does this by reducing the amount of light that reflects off of the window.

How Window Anti-Reflective Coating Works

This coating is composed of a number of just a couple of nanometer-thick layers of materials. These layers are transparent, essentially see-through. When these layers are stacked together, they collaborate to produce a surface that takes on a curvature which scatters and absorbs light, rather than reflecting light back out. This means the window will appear clearer, and there will be less glare to contend with.

As light waves hit the coating, those incoming waves can tear in half, splitting into two different designed waves. These new waves are out of sync, meaning they are not in phase with each other. As a result, they overlap with each other. This interference causes a portion of the light to be absorbed in the coating while the remainder of the light passes through the window.
